This page is information mainly for the
UNSW IT Support Personnel.
Printing Policy
In order to print from any of the NewSouth
Solutions systems (e.g. Financials, HR or Student), you must have
a printer that meets the following criteria:
- The printer must be listed in the "Supported
Printers" list (see below)or emulate a printer that is
- The printer should be directly accessible
via TCP/IP or be connected to a departmental print server, which
supports the LPD protocol.
- You must 'register' the printer with the
Technical Support Team (see below)
- Locally connected printers are no longer
supported by NSS.
Please
note that local printers are no longer supported by NewSouth Solutions.
This policy has been introduced to improve the stability of the
NewSouth Solutions systems. Supporting a wide variety of printers
with their own drivers has been the main reason for some initial
instability in the production system.
